The Department of Building Production was established at SNAU in 1995. Sc.D., Prof. Filatov L.H. was the first Head of the department. Among the first lecturers were: Assoc.Prof. Bielovol V.V., Assoc.Prof. Pavlov V.V., Ph.D., Assoc.Prof. Kartashova I.M., Ph.D., Assoc.Prof. Hvozd V.S., Assoc.Prof. Korotkov S.M., Ph.D., Prof. Kozhushko V.P., Ph.D., Assoc.Prof. Tkachov O.V., Senior instructor Lypnytskyi R.B.
Due to the organisational change in the SNAU management structure in 2003, the Faculty of Civil Engineering became a part of the Engineering and Technology Faculty, and in 2005, the Faculty of Civil Engineering was re-established with three graduating departments: the Department of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, the Department of Building Constructions and the Department of Building Production.
Ph.D., Prof. V.P. Kozhushko headed the department between the years 2005 and 2018. Ph.D., Assoc.Prof. O.S. Savchenko was the Acting Head of the Department between the years 2018 and 2019. Sc.D., Prof. Hasii Hryhorii Mykhailovych has been the Head of the Department of Building Production since 2019.
