DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING STRUCTURES

History of the Department

The Department of Building Structures was founded in 1989 with the establishment of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

The department was headed by the academician of the Engineering Academy of Ukraine and the academician of the Academy of Civil Engineering of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Leonid Mykolayovych Fomitsa (19.03.1935 – 21.06.2012).

In 2012-2014 Lyudmyla Tsyhanenko had been the acting Head of the Department of Building Structures.

Since 2014, Vladyslav Dushyn was the Head of the Department of Building Structures

Starting from 2023, Lyudmyla Tsyhanenko headed the Department of Building Structures.

The Department of Building Structures is the graduating subdivision of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and one of the leading ones, it prepares students in the most complex area of the construction industry – design and construction.

The program is based on the knowledge of all types of building structures, the basics of ensuring their reliability, trouble-free operation, efficiency and durability.
