The material base allows students to gain practical skills:
• building test laboratory;
• laboratory for welding metal structures.
At the department there are 6 scientific circles, which have a thematic direction according to the leading topics of the department, the circles cover students of 3-5 courses. According to the directions of the circles, students have scientific joint publications with the teachers of the department, take part in the scientific-practical conference of teachers, students and graduate students of Sumy NAU and have speeches with international scientific-practical conferences in the SNAU.
The department’s contractual work is aimed at examining the foundations, foundations and structures of buildings and structures and performing works on their strengthening.
The department cooperates with the Research Institute of Building Structures, Kyiv, JSC “Sumzalizobeton”, NPP “Stroitelnaya Nauka”, Sumy, project-research institute “Promproekt”, Sumy. Department of technical and technological disciplines of Uman State Pedagogical University.
